Lauryn Hill was born in New Jersey in 1975. Throughout her career, she has achieved success as a producer, actress, rapper, and songwriter. Ms. Lauryn Hill first stepped into the world spotlight with her role in Sister Act 2. She helped front the Fugees throughout the hip-hop group’s short life from 1992 to 1997 and has earned eight Grammy Awards.
Lauryn Hill kicked off her solo career in 1998 with the release of her debut album, The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill. The album debuted at the top of the Billboard 200 and has been certified 8x platinum with over 19 million copies sold worldwide. In 1999, the debut album picked up ten Grammy nominations and won five Grammy Awards.
