Rapper Rick Ross has been arrested for the second time in two weeks in Georgia, and this time he's facing felony charges of kidnapping, aggravated assault and aggravated battery.
According to the Fayette County Sheriff’s Office, Ross, 39, whose legal name is William Leonard Roberts, was arrested Wednesday morning in Fayetteville, Ga.
Also arrested was Nadrian Lateef James, 42, who prosecutors described as Ross' bodyguard. James faces charges of kidnapping and aggravated battery, the Sheriff's Office said in a statement.

The film capital of the world is finally getting a museum to showcase cinema history.
On a 13-0 vote, the Los Angeles City Council on Wednesday gave final approval for a $300-million museum to be built on the former May Co. department store site on Wilshire Boulevard at Fairfax Avenue, adjoining the Los Angeles County Museum of Art.
Scheduled to open in 2017, the 290,000-square-foot Academy Museum of Motion Pictures will feature a treasure trove of Hollywood memorabilia and a 1,000-seat domed theater for screenings and events.

A 24-year-old man died at the Electric Daisy Carnival in Las Vegas, according to official reports, which were confirmed by the event's promoters.
The name and circumstances of the man's death were not immediately made public by the Clark County coroner. The death occurred Saturday night at the festival, where more than 400 medical calls and 35 arrests were made.
Though it's not clear if the death was heat-related, daytime temperatures at the festival topped 113 degrees Saturday.

The simmering dispute over media access to Hillary Clinton’s presidential campaign erupted again Monday when a reporter for DailyMail.com was told by the campaign he couldn’t attend her events in New Hampshire.
David Martosko, a reporter for DailyMail.com, a website affiliated with the Daily Mail in London, said the Clinton camp said his newspaper wasn’t part of the official group -- known as the print pool -- that covers the White House on a rotating basis. As a result, he was blocked Monday from covering her events in person for the pool.
"I got there when I was told to get there," Martosko told Fox News' Megyn Kelly Monday night. "Quarter to eight in the morning, I showed up in the parking lot, told them who I was, and they said 'No, you can't come.'

"We'd like to play a piece for Ornette Coleman," Jason Moran told the Playboy Jazz Festival crowd late Saturday afternoon.
Moran was midway though a rambunctious set with his R&B-soaked tribute to Fats Waller, and the Hollywood Bowl crowd, perhaps a little distracted by the approaching dinner hour and occasional low-flying beach ball, didn't respond to the mention of the groundbreaking saxophonist, who died Thursday at age 85. So Moran repeated himself -- and the proper ovation never came.
Undaunted, the pianist donned his cigarette-chomping Waller mask and swayed with a tambourine amid his band's woozy deconstruction of Coleman's "Lonely Woman," translating the 1959 classic and its sighing melody into a percolating trance augmented by looping electronics and an insistent groove framed by Moran's keyboards and Jeff Parker's flinty guitar. The song masterfully bridged the gap between Coleman's revolutionary early work and the idiosyncratic funk-rock of his group Prime Time, which played the festival in 1982.

This morning, residents of Finland's capital city awoke to find 1,000 life-size cutout versions of the cover -- which features Minaj crouching in a sports bra, basketball sneakers and a G-string and sent pearl-clutchers into a frenzy when it hit the Internet last August -- displayed across the steps of the Helsinki Cathedral. The 163-year-old evangelical Lutheran church is a major tourist attraction in Helsinki.

The Summer Solstice was first celebrated by the Egyptians years and years ago. Today in Los Angeles, locals celebrate in many ways, with one of the best events being the Summer Solstice Celebration at the Autry.
Summer Solstice Celebration at the Autry 2013 is a one-night family-friendly event that teaches the cultural and symbolic significance of drums in welcoming the summer. Guests are encouraged to participate in workshops hosted by the Asian, Jewish, Latino, and Native American communities. Families make their own drumming instruments and join in a drum circle as the sun sets.

On the 16th floor of a Shanghai office building, dozens of fresh-faced young animators are studying painting, sculpting and acting.

U2 wrapped up its extended stay in Los Angeles on Wednesday night with a sold-out show at the Forum, the band’s fifth at the Inglewood arena before its Innocence and Experience tour heads east, to Denver and beyond.
Wednesday’s concert was actually the last of six in L.A., including U2’s visit last week to the comparatively minuscule Roxy. But sustained exposure to his fans’ adoration has never satisfied Bono’s appetite for more, of course. So Wednesday the frontman sauntered onstage with the Forum’s house lights still on, the better to see 17,000-something Angelenos cheer his arrival once more.

It’s around 3 a.m. on the Barcelona waterfront, and Karl Hyde of Underworld is jubilant. He’s singing and bopping across the Primavera Sound stage while tens of thousands of fans watch him wrap up a full-album performance of his group’s 1994 techno classic “dubnobasswithmyheadman.” Though he spent much of the set behind a wall of synths and samplers re-creating his album’s analog thump, right now his performance is all human, just shouting vocals with plenty of room to move.
On the last full night of Primavera, that’s just about how everyone felt.

Built in 1967 with the intention of emulating the Roman relic that it’s named after, the Forum sports arena has become an icon in its own right in the city of Los Angeles. Located in Inglewood, a few miles east of Los Angeles International Airport, the Forum was constructed by Jack Kent Cooke, who wanted to bring an NHL team to LA but did not have permission to use the existing LA Memorial Sports Arena as a venue.
Once completed, the arena became home to the Los Angeles Lakers of the NBA and the Kings of the NHL until 1999 when they both moved to the newly built Staples Center in downtown LA. The Lakers won five NBA titles at the Forum, where celebrities like Andy Garcia, Dyan Cannon, and Jack Nicholson could always be found courtside. The 18,000-seat venue hosted the 1984 Olympics for basketball and also accommodates tennis matches, boxing matches, and political rallies.

Adventurous art rockers TV on the Radio and veteran country singer Dwight Yoakam are among the acts set to perform in the coming months as part of a free summer concert series presented by the Annenberg Space for Photography.
The Sound in Focus series will bring TV on the Radio to Century Park, next to the Annenberg's Century City location, on July 25, followed closely by an Aug. 1 concert featuring rap group De La Soul. Yoakam is to perform Aug. 8 on a rootsy double bill with the long-running L.A. punk band X, and Cold War Kids will round out the program with a show on Aug. 15.
Jason Bentley, music director of Santa Monica-based KCRW-FM (89.9) curated this year's lineup and will perform a DJ set before TV on the Radio's gig.

The Staples Center in Downtown, Los Angeles is a multi-purpose sports and entertainment complex that features everything from professional basketball to A-List concerts.
Opened in 1999, in what was then a fairly desolate and slightly dangerous part of Los Angeles, the arena holds around 19,000 people and is the official home to the Los Angeles Lakers, Los Angeles Clippers, Los Angeles Kings, and Los Angeles Sparks.

The arena itself is situated in an area of Downtown that’s across the street from LA Live, another entertainment complex with theaters, restaurants, bars, and ESPN’s west coast offices and production center.

"Whatever really great poetry I wrote," Allen Ginsberg once said, "I was actually able to chant, to use my whole body, whereas in lesser poetry, I wasn't. I was talking."
Ginsberg would not have been the same world-changing poet without his inherent musicality. He made American poetry breathe physically and spiritually as it had never before. His ecstatic breath was such that it attracted the varied musical likes of Leonard Bernstein, Bob Dylan, Paul McCartney, Patti Smith, the Clash and the Kronos Quartet. Director Robert Wilson and the late American composer Elodie Lauten are among those who created operas around Ginsberg's life and work. Ginsberg brought something valuable to them all.
But Philip Glass' "Hydrogen Jukebox," a 1990 collaboration with Ginsberg, did something even more valuable. The opera helped the poet himself breathe. And in a new production that opened Saturday night in San Pedro, Long Beach Opera has breathed valuable new life into a startlingly timely illumination of the American experience.
