Mesquite man fatally shot after altercation at party
An 18-year-old Mesquite man was fatally shot during an altercation at a party Saturday night, police said.
Charles Elliott was shot in the head at a residence in the 2100 block of Catskill Drive, near South Peachtree and Scyene roads, about 10:15 p.m. after a fight broke out leading to gunfire, said police spokesman Brian Parrish.
Elliott was transported to Parkland Memorial Hospital where he died Sunday morning, Parrish said.
Police are in the process of interviewing witnesses.
Anyone who was at the party or has any information about the shooting is asked to contact Mesquite police at 972-285-6336 or Crime Stoppers at 214-373-TIPS. Crime Stoppers will pay up to $5,000 for information that leads to an arrest or indictment.
